Donald Trump may have been the one to accept the Republican nomination for President at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night, but the person who caused a stir on social media was actually his youngest son—Barron Trump.

Barron, 14, who is the only child from the President and First Lady Melania’s marriage, became the focus of social media after he was seen standing up during his father’s speech. Seated next to Vice-President Mike Pence, Barron stood up for a round of applause—and shocked everyone when it became clear just how tall he has gotten since he first moved into the White House in 2017.

The comments about his height led to some intense conversations on Twitter on Friday, with many reacting to how tall he’s gotten over the years and others slamming the comments as criticism towards the teen. Barron's growth spurt also has some wondering if he is going to quickly become the tallest person in his family—which includes four older siblings from his father’s first marriages to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples.

While it’s unclear how tall the First Son may be right now, the fact that he has gotten so tall shouldn’t be surprising as his parents both have decent heights as well. His mother, Melania, a former model, stands at 5’11”, while President Trump is reportedly 6’3” or 6’2”.

In August, Town and Country Magazine estimated that Barron may already be as tall, or even taller than, his father. Other photos of Barron, who is rarely photographed, show him appearing to be as tall as his parents already, including when his mother is wearing heels. Based on the video clip from the RNC, such a height is likely as he clearly stood much taller than Vice-President Pence, who is 5’10”.

If Barron does have the same height as his father already, then he could be well on his way to becoming the tallest member of the Trump family, as his older siblings are already almost all shorter than him.

According to a report from The Cut in 2018, the three children the President shares with his first wife, Ivana, stand at a variety of heights. His eldest, Donald Trump Jr., 42, is 6’1”. His daughter, Ivanka, 38, is the same height as his current wife, standing at 5’11”. His son, Eric, 36, is currently the tallest of his children, standing at 6’5” -- though Barron seems poised to take that title from him.

As for the President’s other daughter, Tiffany, 26, from his marriage to Maples, she is the shortest of her siblings standing at 5’8”.
