Bates Motel
Is Norman (Freddie Highmore) going to get sent back to the county hospital in episode 3 of "Bates Motel"? A&E

Is Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga) about to walk down the aisle? The episode 3 synopsis for “Bates Motel” Season 4 hints that Norma and Romero (Nestor Carbonell) shippers might be very happy next Monday.

This season of A&E’s “Psycho” prequel has not skimped on the drama or craziness so far. Although fans are only two episodes deep, Norman (Freddie Highmore) has already taken another life. Norma is still in denial that her baby boy could be a psychopath, but she’s starting to realize that admitting him to a mental institution may be her only option. However, as viewers saw this past week, getting him the help he needs is not going to be easy.

Episode 3, titled “’Til Death Do You Part,” will find Norma and Romero taking a “big step.” Fans will remember that Norma asked Romero to marry her in the Season 4 premiere so that she could use his health insurance to get Norman into Pineview. Romero initially turned her down, but had a change of heart after seeing how distraught she was at her house. After paying off the counselor at Pineview to get Norman into the program there, Romero revealed that he planned on marrying Norma within two months. Could the wedding be happening next week?

Meanwhile, Norman will have a difficult time accepting his “new circumstances.” After stealing Norma’s gun and basically threatening to commit a murder-suicide, Romero removed him from the house. Norman hadn’t signed the papers for Pineview, so Romero revealed that he would have to take him back to the rundown county hospital. Norma begged her son to sign the Pineview papers before he got carted off, and Norman did take then pen. But did he sign his name? Viewers didn’t see the paperwork, and since Norman thinks that his mother is a killer, it’s possible that he may have signed her name instead of his.

Finally, “Bates Motel” fans will find Dylan (Max Thieriot) attempting to make some big changes in his life after Emma’s (Olivia Cooke) operation. Her dad encouraged Dylan to give up growing marijuana and do something with his life, and the synopsis teases that he’ll take those words to heart. The episode description reveals that he will be trying to “rid himself of old business.”

“Bates Motel” Season 4, episode 3 will air on A&E on Monday, March 21 at 9 p.m. EDT.
