Benny Blanco got candid about the best and worst time in his life with Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Blanco got the chance to hang out with the "Lemonade" singer and the "Empire State of Mind" rapper at their Hamptons home a decade ago. The "Lonely" singer revisited that experience when he spoke with Zane Lowe on Apple Music Wednesday.

The 33-year-old record producer shared the details when he had the chance to hang out with the power couple. He admitted that they were not close at first, but they eventually got comfortable after bonding over music. At one point Queen Bey suggested a beat battle and they also went swimming in a pool.

When it was time to say goodbye, Blanco didn't know how to approach the "Single Ladies" hitmaker. He was battling inside his head if he should hug Beyoncé or not.

"We're sitting there. It's the end of the night. It's like the third night I'm there, OK? Everyone's drunk," he was quoted by E! News as saying. "We're having fun. It's the best time ever. We're saying, 'Good night.' And it's at that point where I'm like...Do I hug Beyoncé? Like, what's the protocol? What do you do? Are you just like, 'Bye?'"

Since he felt that they had already gotten to know each other well, he realized that normally he would tell his pals how great it was hanging out with them. So, he decided to give the Houston native a "very European" goodbye, but it didn't go well.

"I remember I go in for the hug...and then, I'm like, I'm going to kiss her on the cheek. That's what you do. Yeah, you do," Blanco continued. "And I went to...kiss on the cheek, and I guess we missed a little bit. I definitely hit the corner of some sort of lip. I'm like, 'Oh, my God. This is the worst thing in my life.'"

It was very awkward on his part since "Jay-Z is right there looking at me" when it happened. "And I'm just like, my lip is here. Hers is there...and I look at Jay and I'm like, 'Oh, OK. I'm dead. My life is over. It was great. Nice knowing you guys.' My life flashed before my eyes," he added.

But then Jay-Z only responded, "All right, bro. See you tomorrow."

Despite the hiccup, Blanco considered his weekend with Beyoncé and Jay-Z the best time in his life because he learned so much from them. "That experience is the best to me. To me, it's about the journey," he said.
