A guard outside the Buckingham Palace in London was caught on video yelling at a tourist to back away from his horse, after the woman tried to take a picture with the animal.

In the video, which was posted on TikTok on Thursday, the royal guard can be seen sitting stone-faced on his horse. Many tourists approach the guard and the horse to either pet the animal or take pictures.

A lady, wearing a black top and sunglasses, then moves toward the horse and touches its rein, following which the royal guard yells at the tourist to“Step back!”

As the terrified tourist keeps her distance from the horse and disperse, a child who seems just as shocked by the incident bursts into tears. While many did not like the guard's behavior, one of the bystanders in the footage could be heard defending him. “Just doing his job,” he says.

This was not the first time a royal guard has been filmed yelling at a tourist to not touch his horse.

In another video, which was posted on TikTok last month, a royal guard riding a black horse was seen reprimanding another tourist. In the video, a woman, wearing a pink checkered top and sunglasses, attempts to touch the horse of the royal guard for a photo, but steps back shocked when the guard suddenly yells: “Stand back from the Queen’s lifeguard, don’t touch the reins!”

The TikTok user, who had initially posted the video, turned out to be a family member of the tourist. “We will never return to London after this incident,” he captioned the video.

Both videos spread like wildfire on social media and sparked online discussions on Twitter and TikTok, with many seemingly siding with the royal guards, pointing out that their horses are not tourist attractions.

“Folk seems to forget they aren’t a tourist attraction—they’re actively protecting the Queen and crown,” one TikTok user commented on one of the videos. “Just think about it, when you visit the White House, would you go up to the secret service agent and caress his holster?” another wrote.
