Gearbox Software announced Thursday that it is going to re-release "Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition" in partnership with gaming company People Can Fly on April 7. Randy Pitchford, Gearbox founder and president, announced at a game awards event Thursday that the game was available on preorder.

But the bigger news is that in the game, the company is bringing back the iconic Duke Nukem character for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) as part of the publishing deal. Players pre-ordering will get to play the entire game as Duke Nukem featuring a fully re-recorded script in addition to new lines in the original voice of the character.

“'Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition' takes a critically-acclaimed game and adds so much to it with some killer new content, including all the separate add-on packs, and kicking up the presentation to a level that wasn’t possible with technology before," said Steve Gibson, head of publishing, Gearbox software, in the official press release. The re-released game will include all previously released content such as maps and mode. New features will include:

  • New Overkill Campaign mode, which will provide players with an unrestricted arsenal of weapons and skillshots.
  • Five new levels for the score-based Echo Mode.
  • Improved presentation including updated models, environments and animation.
  • Remastered audio effects.
  • High-resolution textures.
  • Increased polygon textures.
  • 4K resolution on PC and PS4 Pro.

Voice actor Jon St. John, who voiced the original in-game dialogue, will once again do the voiceover.
