In a case of animal cruelty, a man beat a cat with his fists after smashing the feline on the ground. The disturbing incident took place in a park in Brisbane, Australia, on Tuesday.

A witness saw the accused pull up his car at the park. The unidentified man stepped out of the vehicle, a silver sedan, with a white plastic cover in his hand. He then threw the cover carrying the cat to the ground and hit it continuously before the feline managed to escape. The accused then fled the scene in his car.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was calling for witnesses or footages of the crime as there was no evidence for formal investigation to begin. Police were also helping the organization to find evidences.

"It makes you quite angry. When someone does something like that it makes you wonder what else they can do,” RSPCA Inspector, Yorick Walburg, said. The accused, meanwhile, was described as a male of Pacific Islander appearance with “short hair and missing a number of front teeth.” Anyone with information about the accused or evidence was requested to email at cruelty_complaints@rspcaqld.org.au.

Meanwhile, the feline was found and was seeking treatment at a veterinary hospital. The cat was given the name Adora. RSPCA said the feline wobbled in her walk due to neurological issues. However, it wasn’t sure the cat had the issues even before the attack. The investigation was ongoing.

The incident comes less than two months after a man from Sydney pleaded guilty to throwing his girlfriend’s cat down a seven-story garbage chute because he was jealous of the feline. The man’s girlfriend found the feline at the bottom of the apartment’s garbage. When confronted, the unidentified accused confessed to throwing the cat as he was jealous that the animal was getting more attention from her. The man was fined and banned from owning pet animals for a decade.
