It’s much more than just exercise for Chaz Bono. It’s a lifestyle change that’s helped the 44-year-old shed a total of 60 pounds, which he showed off on Saturday at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles.

Bono, who lost 43 pounds in February, told People magazine that he’s “still slowly losing” and shared his delight on Twitter:

He’s continued dancing since appearing on “Dancing With the Stars” two years ago and has also picked up martial arts, but attributes his accomplishment to the food he’s putting in his body.

“I’ve just changed the way I eat,” Bono said in his People interview. “Diets don’t work. You just have to change what you eat, and I have. I really avoid grains and starches, so meats and vegetables and fruits are my diet. I make them all different ways to keep it interesting.”

Bono, who’s made it his public mission to lose weight in November while appearing on “The Doctors,” mentioned that fans are starting to ask him for advice, tweeting:

While on “The Doctors,” Bono who was at 250 pounds, shared that he has struggled with his weight since his mid-20s.
