1. Episode 1 Synopsis

Episode 1 kicks off with several changes taking place at the hospital. The Season 2 premiere begins with Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) commencing his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery with a new mentor, Dr. Latham (Ato Essandoh). However, the official synopsis reveals that Rhodes gets off on the wrong foot with his challenging new mentor. Will he be able to work for two years with his new boss?

Meanwhile, April (Yaya DaCosta) comes to terms with her recently discovered illness. Will she tell her boyfriend Tate (Deron J. Powell) that she is sick?

However, the good news is that Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) will be promoted to chief resident but he will soon realize that this job is harder than it seems.

Elsewhere, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) will approach Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) with an interesting opportunity that will catch her off-guard. Despite turning down the offer to work in pathology, Sarah won’t be unemployed. In fact, she will return to “Chicago Med” in Season 2 as a new resident thanks to Dr. Charles.

Additionally, the Season 2 premiere will show Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) treating a pregnant woman with extensive injuries. Her new pregnant patient was recently a victim of a high speed collision.
