Model Chrissy Teigen drew attention on social media Wednesday after she shared an "unrelatable" tweet that offended some fans who felt she was bragging about her luxurious lifestyle. Teigen touched on being recommended wine at a restaurant that was part of a $13,000 bill.

After Teigen’s name became a trending topic on Twitter, the 35-year-old opened up about why she chose to randomly share the unrelatable tweet.

“My little Jack would have been born this week so I’m a bit off. I truly feel kicks in my belly, but it’s not phantom. I have surgery for endometriosis tomorrow...but the period feeling this month is exactly like baby kicks. Sigh,” she tweeted.

Teigen suffered a miscarriage in September, which would have been her third child with husband John Legend. Teigen had experienced excessive bleeding and received several blood transfusions before the miscarriage.

While Teigen received public support after the miscarriage, her social media followers soured on her for a tweet that asked them to share comments about the most expensive thing they have eaten but didn’t like. Her interaction caused some of her social media followers to object to such a topic.

“One time John and I were at a restaurant and the waiter recommended a nice Cabernet. We got the bill and it was 13,000 dollars. HOW DO U CASUALLY RECOMMEND THAT WINE. we didn’t even finish it and it had been cleared!!!” she tweeted.

The tweet was considered poorly timed and insensitive given how many Americans have struggled during the pandemic.

Acknowledging the backlash, Teigen explained that her tweets wouldn't always be relatable to everyone.

“Hey, not everything I say on my Twitter is going to be relatable to you because it is my life and my Twitter and my stories. I see your tweets, I get your jokes, you are so funny, yes, you really nailed me,” she wrote.

Teigen also appeared to make light of the incident and poked fun at herself for being “owned and canceled” on Twitter.
