Tamera Mowry-Housley and Brooks Darnell star in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ Thursday night premiere of “A Christmas Miracle,” which is airing as part of the network’s 2019 “Miracles of Christmas” event.

While this is Mowry-Housley’s first Hallmark movie, viewers will recognize the actress as the host of “The Real” talk show, as well as for her time playing Tamera Campbell on the long-running family sitcom, “Sister, Sister,” opposite her real-life twin, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, who made her own Hallmark debut last year with “A Gingerbread Romance.”

As for Darnell, he joined the Hallmark family in 2016 with “All Yours,” but this is his first time leading a movie for the company. Hallmarkies might also recognize him from his “The Young and the Restless” role of Dr. Nate Hastings or for his time portraying the character of Charlie on Freeform’s “Shadowhunters” series.

A Christmas Miracle,” which was directed by Tibor Takács and written by Mark Amato, sees Mowry-Housley and Darnell’s characters finding an unexpected romance with one another.

“Optimistic and upbeat single mom Emma Sanderson (Mowry-Housley) has just moved to Denver with her young son and has landed a temporary job as an executive assistant at a lifestyle magazine,” the synopsis shares. “Hoping to eventually write for the magazine, Emma is looking for a Christmas miracle to write about for the magazine’s big holiday issue.

“While following her lead on the story, Emma discovers unexpected romance with the magazine’s photographer Marcus Welsh (Darnell) and becomes inspired to bring about a real-life Christmas miracle for a lonely local street musician known as Santa Dean (Barry Bostwick).”

Mowry-Housley, who’s also an executive producer on the movie, told MediaVillage she’d always wanted to be in a Hallmark movie, and she’s so happy to be joining the family.

“It was so much fun, and I couldn’t wait to act again,” the actress said. “I also wanted to make sure my first acting gig after my hiatus was a great one and a great fit. I’m very thankful that Hallmark did that for me and I would love to be back for more!”
