A couple in Georgia has been arrested for producing sexually abusive images using their adoptive children, officials said.

William and Zachary Zulock, the male couple from Oxford, were arrested for allegedly committing sexually abusive acts on their adoptive children and documenting them on videos. They were taken into custody pending charges of aggravated child molestation and sexual exploitation of children, NBC News reported Monday.

The sibling children whose identities were not revealed were shifted to the custody of Walton County's Division of Family and Child Services, officials said.

The investigation began on July 27 after the sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division received a report of a person downloading child sexual abuse material.

Upon questioning the suspect who downloaded the images, the investigators found out that another man was "producing homemade child sexual abuse material with at least one child who lived in the home with the perpetrator," the Sheriff's office said.

However, during the search at the couple's residence, the detectives determined that both the adoptive fathers of the children were behind the crimes.

"During the execution of the search warrant, evidence that both adult males — the adoptive fathers of the sibling pair residing in the home — were engaging in sexually abusive acts and video documenting this abuse," the officials said.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff's office thanked the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, digital forensic investigators and special agents for helping with the investigation, news outlet Local 12 reported.

"WCSO would like to thank and their digital forensic and special agents for providing operational support and analytics; Walton County schools for their cooperation and assistance with identifying the young victims in this case; Walton County DFCS for their prompt response and compassion while taking the boys into care," Walton County GA Sheriffs office said in a news release.

Earlier this month, a former elementary school teacher from Chicago was sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexually abusing a boy under 13 in a hotel room in Indiana. The suspect identified as Pedro Ibarra was sentenced after pleading guilty to the charges of sexual exploitation of a child and attempted sexual exploitation of a child.
