A Georgia man, who planned to film himself proposing marriage to his girlfriend in the open was prepared for some awkward stares, but the last thing he expected was a stranger confessing to a crime.

TikTok user named Kpohlman2 from Savannah uploaded the video, which shot to viral fame in no time.

“Thank God we were done with the proposal,” the user wrote in the caption.

The video showed what happened immediately after the user’s boyfriend popped the question to her. While the couple savored the moment, an unidentified man entered the frame, appearing to talk to someone over the phone.

The man was heard in the video saying while he was driving under the influence of alcohol, he hit a pedestrian with his vehicle and fled the scene. "I hit a woman. Or somebody dressed like a woman, I’m not sure. I didn’t stop."

The man then appears to blithely walk out of the frame after making the jaw-dropping confession, seemingly unaware his conversation was being filmed.

The video has since gone viral on TikTok, garnering 8.9 million times views. Many people cheekily said in the comment section the man should be tracked down, not only just to investigate the alleged hit-and-run, but also to invite him to the couple’s wedding.

Many users even compared the man with a character from the videogame "Grand Theft Auto." However, people seemed to believe the video wasn’t a planned one and the man genuinely had no idea he was interrupting someone’s proposal.

"I’m afraid to comment because this might be considered evidence of a murder and I don’t want to be a witness," one person wrote in the comment section.
