Emilia Clarke fans reacted after the "Game of Thrones" star revealed her new platinum blonde hair in the style of her character, Daenerys Targaryen. Clarke, who is a natural brunette, shared the first official picture of her new blonde hairdo Wednesday.

"The experiment continues," Clarke said of her icy blonde locks on Instagram. "My IQ has stayed around average and my need to be near fire-breathing creatures and uncomfortable seats made of iron has trebled."

The caption was accompanied by the hashtags "here's looking at you kid," "apparently blondes take more selfies" and "can you tell this was shot on an iPhone?"

Clarke's new look was quickly approved by fans. The Instagram picture amassed more than 2.6 million likes, and several users to deemed her look as "gorgeous" and "beautiful" in the comments section.

"I think you did an amazing job on going blonde," one user wrote. "You look beautiful as always."

"Me and my friends freaked when we saw this because dany is our favorite character in GOT and your play her so well," a second user wrote.

One user claimed that her new blonde strands will make her more recognizable in public, saying, "People will recognize you a lot more now especially in public, [but it] looks real good both blonde or brunette."

Clarke first dyed her hair Tuesday.

"I done did it," Clarke wrote in a Tuesday Instagram post. "Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons."

Clarke added, "If you squint just so you might never know. All hail to the magnificence of @kevalexanderhair and @candicebanks74 the genius creators of 'KHALEESI WIG' (and not forgetting all the hair on game of thrones for 8 glorious years) for at long last making this magical moment a reality."

"She did not try this at home! Bleach blonde hair, regardless of your base color, must be done by a professional colorist to protect the integrity of the hair while achieving an even tone to your new color," celebrity hairstylist Kristan Serafino told Allure Thursday.

Kevin Alexander, who serves as the popular HBO show's hair designer, helped to create Clarke's wigs. Clarke wore four separate wigs and they all have different names, Time reported June 30. The wigs were nicknamed Dany, Diva, Candice and Blondie. Blondie was originally named B—h because "she didn't want to play."

Alexander told Time that it took two-and-a-half months to find the right shade of blonde for Clarke's wig. Daenerys' hair in the book series is silver, but the silver hair aged Clarke's youthful face. The show's hair designers played around with the tone of blonde, which ranged from platinum to a creamier blonde shade. This resulted in six or seven wigs being created.

The platinum blonde look is not easy to pull off, but some celebrities have managed to do so with ease. Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift, Karlie Kloss, Justin Bieber and Emma Roberts are among a few stars that have participated in the platinum blonde trend.
