Dan Levy is all set to make his directorial debut with Netflix's upcoming movie, "Good Grief." Apart from directing, the 39-year-old will also be writing the script and starring in the movie alongside Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel and Luke Evans.

"Good Grief is a cautionary tale about friendship and loss and all the mess that comes with it when the truth is something you've evaded for most of your life," Levy said in a statement shared by People on Tuesday.

"It's funny, it's bittersweet, it's a project that has helped me work through my own grief. And I hope it does the same for other people as well," he added.

The movie will revolve around a man named Marc Dreyfus, who chooses to distract himself after his mother's death by getting married. However, he loses his husband too and is forced to "finally confront the grief he's tried so hard to avoid, sending him and his two closest friends on a Parisian weekend of self-discovery."

Levy confirmed the news Tuesday on Instagram by sharing a screenshot of the article that mentioned his directorial debut and cast details. "Well, this is a g d dream come true!" he captioned the post.

The comments section was filled with congratulatory messages from celebs. Actress Betty Buckley dropped clapping and heart emojis while actor Michael Hitchcock wrote, "How cool is this?? Congratulations!!!!"

Many more celebs including Director Adam Shankman, actor Salvatore Antonio, fashion expert Imran Amed and actor Blake Lee praised Levy for his directorial debut.

Evans, on the other hand, also shared the same screenshot on Instagram and captioned the post, "What a dream team. So thrilled."

Levy is popularly known for playing David Rose on the TV series, "Schitt's Creek" from 2015 to 2020. Aside from this Netflix's upcoming project, the actor will feature in a movie, "Haunted Mansion," which is currently under post-production.

Furthermore, he will appear in a TV series, "The Idol," which is also under post-production, and consists of only six episodes. The show features Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd, Suzanna Son and Troye Sivan.
