The co-op RPG "Dauntless" received a new update that has direct effects on new player experience. The update, called "Call of the Void," promises a challenging experience for the players who are about to jump in.

Typical hunts in "Dauntless" focuses on a single 'Behemoth' – a boss that's required to be defeated, but new Escalation missions like "Call of the Void" features a gauntlet of boss missions that the player needs to defeat in a row, IGN reported.

Each boss fight also features a pairing of two different bosses which are randomly picked, helping each other in ways the developer didn't intend to, the report added.

The number of possible encounters and partnerships are as huge as the game. The player won't be without help, though; there is a crystal power-up between each fight, where players can pick their boost to take into the next fight. They can choose to replenish their stock of potions or charge up and strengthen their attacks for the next battle.

According to Cog Connected, the features of the new "Dauntless" update are more than what meets the eye. The UI received an improvement – it has been streamlined and modified to look easier to navigate. The health of the Behemoth in the level bar is also easier to read, therefore letting players know if they're nearing the end of the boss level.

There is also a new Training Ground feature which lets players test out their weapons. This is also an important area for those new to the game, where they can practice and get familiar with the controls without being thrust forward into a battle. The Training Grounds also serves to inform the players about different statuses like staggering and wounds.

The "Call of the Void" update brings with it new lore for players to explore, as well as Umbral Escalations – the aforementioned battles where Behemoths can team up in new and unexpected ways. The Umbral zone is also guarded by Thrax, an Umbral Behemoth which is considered the hardest of the Behemoths to face off against.

The "Dauntless: Call of the Void" update arrives on June 11 with a new Hunt Pass that gives players 50 levels of 'season-specific' rewards.
