Vincent is no longer interested in doing business with Rudy in the Season 1 finale of “The Deuce.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 8 of the HBO series, Vincent (James Franco) balks at getting in deeper with Rudy (Michael Rispoli), as expansion fever hits Frankie (also played by Franco) and Bobby (Chris Bauer).

In the trailer for the episode, Rudy, Bobby and Frankie reveal to Vincent that they are opening another massage parlor. But unlike with the first one, Vincent doesn’t want to be involved this time around. “I’m out,” the barman tells the mob boss upfront.

However, it appears that Vincent can’t just walk away from Rudy that easily. At the end of the video, a seemingly bruised up Vincent surfaces as a mystery man points a gun to his head.

In Season 1, episode 7, viewers were reminded that Vincent’s paramour, Abby (Margarita Levieva), has no idea that he’s involved with the operation of the massage parlor. And because Abby has been trying to help sex workers quit their job and start a new life somewhere else, Vincent is probably afraid that Abby would leave him if he won’t cut his ties with Rudy as soon as possible.

Also in the upcoming episode, Candy (Maggie Gyllenhaal) finally gets a taste of directing. In the trailer, Harvey’s (David Krumholtz) all-around assistant tells the cast and crew that their director won’t make it on the shoot. But instead of going home, Candy gladly steps in as director.

Meanwhile, Sandra (Natalie Paul) faces editorial and legal hurdles. In the trailer, Sandra confronts her editor after he took out everything about police corruption on the article she submitted. When Sandra’s editor tells her that there are no documents to back up her police corruption story, Sandra heads to her lover and NYPD patrolman Alston (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) for help.

“I need someone on the record, “ Sandra tells Alston. Alston seemingly tries to convince the new captain of NYPD’s 14th Precinct to speak on the record against their fellow police officers, but Captain McDonagh tells him: “I have your back, but I can only do that if we keep our dirt in house.”

Elsewhere in episode 8, Abby changes up the Hi-Hat’s clientele; Barbara (Kayla Foster) and Ruby (Pernell Walker) connect with the wrong sort of clients; Vincent settles a score. C.C. (Gary Carr) encourages Ace, a onetime pimp, to get back in the game.

“The Deuce” Season 1 finale, titled “My Name Is Ruby,” airs on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 9 p.m. EDT on HBO. Watch the trailer for the episode below:
