A nip here, a tuck there, mix in a bit of Botox and pretty soon you have a much younger face – and that’s exactly what President Donald Trump says Democratic rival Joe Biden has had done, this despite speculation about the work Trump himself has had.

At a campaign rally in Pittsburgh Tuesday, Trump mocked Biden for abiding by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations on wearing a face mask to prevent the spread of coronavirus, alleging instead the reason Biden wears a face mask is because he had plastic surgery.

“I mean, honestly, what the hell did he spend all that money on the plastic surgery [for] if he is going to cover it up?” Trump said. “Seriously — the whole deal!”

A New York plastic surgeon, Dr. Oleh Slupchynskyj of the Aesthetic Institute, told the New York Post in 2008 he would “bet my next paycheck” that Biden, who turns 77 on Nov. 20, had undergone a lateral brow/eyelid lift and had “Botox in the forehead region” after examining pictures of the former vice president.

Eyelid surgery – blepharoplasty – generally is considered medically necessary if tissue overhangs the upper eyelid, obstructing vision. The effects of Botox injections wear off in three to four months for most patients, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons said on its website.

A New York magazine reporter who followed Biden on the campaign trail wrote she detected a scar by his ear, a possible indication of a facelift.

This is not the first time Trump has alleged a public figure has gone under the knife. In 2017, he said in a series of tweets MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a facelift” during a New Year’s stay at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida resort.

Brzezinski knocked down Trump’s allegation.

In 2014, he commented on Kim Novak’s appearance at the Oscars.

“Kim should sue her plastic surgeon!” he tweeted.

Trump got into a Twitter war with Cher in 2012 after she called his hair “a rug.” He attacked her “massive plastic surgeries.”

Vanity Fair reported Trump had scalp reduction surgery to get rid of a bald spot in 1989 by the same doctor who performed procedures on Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Rivers. The revelation was made under oath by Trump’s first wife, Ivana. She also said Trump had liposuction on his chin and waist, but later retracked that portion of her deposition.

Trump turned 74 on June 14.
