Queen Elizabeth II did not deliberately snub Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

A photo of the Queen before her Christmas message airs is already available. In the snap, she looks regal and stunning in her blue outfit. On her desks is a collection of framed pictures featuring King George VI, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, and Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Many noticed that Prince Harry and Markle are missing. Some speculated that the Queen deliberately snubbed them because the couple decided to spend Christmas away from the royal family despite the monarch’s invitation. Royal expert Ingrid Seward explained that it was not the case.

“It does seem to represent the idea of a slimmed-down monarchy,” Seward said.

“All the media problems with Harry and Meghan must have worried her. However, she would never be so underhand as to deliberately omit their picture.”

Last month, it was reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hurt the Queen for snubbing her Christmas invitation. It wasn’t the first time the couple declined the Queen’s invitation since they also didn’t say “yes” when Her Majesty requested them to join her at Balmoral last summer.

Seward said that Christmas at Sandringham is quite stressful, so it was probably the reason why Prince Harry and Markle decided not to take Archie there considering his age. Seward found it sad that the Sussexes won’t be part of the celebration given the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s dotage.

Sir Rod Stewart also believed that Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to spend Christmas away from the Queen was not the best one. He said that they were being inconsiderate of the monarch’s age. Stewart said that he flies around the world to be with his parents on Christmas because he knew they didn’t have many left.

Prince Harry and Markle are in Canada and will be spending holidays there. Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II will be spending the season with the rest of the members of the royal family including the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Earl and Countess of Wessex and the Cambridges while Prince Philip remains in the hospital.
