  • Ivana said President Trump "is not a good loser"
  • Trump's ex-wife believes he would continue fighting the election's outcome
  • The president has blocked government officials from cooperating with Biden's transition team

Donald Trump’s former wife, Ivana, said on Monday she wants the president to concede defeat days after multiple news organizations have called President-elect Joe Biden the winner.

The 71-year-old businesswoman appeared in an interview with People, when she was asked to share her thoughts about the 2020 presidential race following Biden’s win against ex-husband Trump.

“I just want this whole thing to be over with, one way or the other. I really don’t care,” she told People.

Ivana also said Trump “is not a good loser” and believes he will continue to fight the election's outcome despite unfavorable results.

“He’s not a good loser. He doesn’t like to lose, so he’s going to fight and fight and fight,” she said.

Ivana’s statements echo ones made by first lady Melania Trump and senior adviser Jared Kushner, who have reportedly urged the president to accept defeat against Biden.

The lame-duck president’s refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election has divided his inner circle. While his wife and son-in-law suggested he should concede, sons Donald Jr. and Eric have continued to push his campaign team to reject the results.

Attorney General William Barr, a loyal ally, has also authorized the Justice Department to launch probes into allegations of widespread voter fraud during the presidential race. Trump and the White House have also cracked down on people they deemed “not sufficiently loyal,” Associated Press reported.

Trump has reportedly blocked government officials from cooperating with President-elect Joe Biden and his team as they prepare for a transition of power. The president also fired Pentagon chief and Defense Secretary Mark Esper.

The news came months after Esper and Trump argued over how to handle the unrest across the nation. In July, the defense secretary publicly opposed Trump’s plan to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act. The law would have allowed Trump to deploy active-duty U.S. troops to respond to the protests against police brutality.

“I say this not only as secretary of Defense, but also as a former soldier and a former member of the National Guard, the option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort, and only in the most urgent and dire situations. We are not in one of those situations now,” Esper had said.

An administration official said Esper’s firing might soon be followed by the termination of FBI Director Christopher Wray, CIA head Gina Haspel and White House infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, CNBC reported.
