The film adaptation of “Les Miserables” the musical, helmed by “The King’s Speech” director Tom Hooper, drew a star-studded throng at its world premiere in London Wednesday night, but not everyone was appropriately dressed for the occasion.

Dressed to the nines were Tom Hooper along with his talented cast, including Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Crowe and Samantha Barks. While Hathaway’s Givenchy gown received mixed reviews from fashion critics, some of whom complained that its complicated draping forced her to stand with her hands on her hips all night, the real sartorial disasters came from singer Ellie Goulding and model Laura Bailey, who both suffered unexpected wardrobe malfunctions.

Goulding, who wore a delicate floor-length white frock, and Bailey, who donned a gauzy pink ball gown, were both caught by surprise when flash cameras exposed a little more of their ensembles than they had bargained for; Goulding’s underwear was visible through the dress, and both her and Bailey’s nipples were exposed through the sheer fabric of both of their outfits.

Also in attendance were Italian fashion designer Valentino, a close friend of Hathaway’s; Isla Fisher, whose husband Sasha Baron Cohen stars in “Les Miserables” as the villain Thenardier; fashion photographer Mario Testino; Gillian Anderson; Emilia Fox; and Idris Elba.
