Since its dramatic Season 1 finale, HBO's "Euphoria" has kept fans waiting to see what's to come for Rue (Zendaya), Jules (Hunter Schafer), Nate (Jacob Elordi), and others. After production was temporarily suspended due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Zendaya spoke with "Pose" star MJ Rodriguez about the current state of new episodes during a conversation for Variety‘s Actors on Actors issue.

In the new interview, the former Disney Channel star added that the cast and crew of "Euphoria" had planned to head back to work March 16 to begin shooting Season 2. However, the spread of COVID-19 forced those behind the show to deal with an unexpected postponement.

"Literally, three or four days before that, they were shut down," she said, adding, "I was like, dang, ‘I was so close.’ We did camera tests and hair and makeup tests, and we got to see everybody and we had the sets were built.” She also elaborated that the scripts had already been written.

Aside from the update, other reports have teased more about Season 2. Not only did Storm Reid, who plays Zendaya's little sister Gia Bennett, say that her character is slated to start developing and coming into her own, but a rumor of a new casting addition has also emerged since the Season 1 finale.

Additionally, the show has also remained in the news for other reasons as well during this downtime due to a recent auction that gave fans the chance to own a piece the show for themselves and a Zoom class that taught people how to create makeup looks like those that were used throughout Season 1.

At this time, there is no official premiere date for "Euphoria" Season 2.
