The whole world is facing the brunt of the deadly coronavirus. Cities have been locked down and people are being encouraged to “self-isolate” so that the virus can be contained. A lot of Hollywood celebrities are doing the same and remaining indoors to protect themselces from the illness.

But Evangeline Lilly caused a stir when she announced that she won’t be self-isolating or quarantining herself because of the virus. The “Ant-Man And The Wasp” star shared a photo of her morning tea on Instagram and wrote that it is a “usual day” for her and her kids. She further stated that she came back home after dropping her children at the gymnastics class.

The caption did not go well with the fans and prompted a lot of questions from them on why her kids are still attending the gymnastics class when it is dangerous out there. The actress responded to the comments made by her followers and tried to make her point.

While replying to a fan, Lilly wrote that the virus is just a “respiratory flu” and believes the governments all around the world are taking too much control over people by putting them into lockdowns. She also noted that whatever is happening makes her believe that the country is moving toward a “marshall law.” The “Lost” star also urged people to be more “vigilant” to ensure that the politicians and leaders don’t steal away people’s “freedom.”

“Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law [sic] for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu,” Lilly wrote.

“It’s unnerving. Let’s be vigilant right now. And kind. Watchful and gracious — keeping a close eye on our leaders, making sure they don’t abuse this moment to steal away more freedoms and grab more power,” Lilly wrote in another comment.

On the other hand, she also claimed that there could be a conspiracy behind all this because everytime an election approaches, something like this comes on to the scene.

However, her comments made a lot of people angry and they called out the celebrity for making such irresponsible remarks. One of her fellow Hollywood colleagues, Rachel Brosnahan, urged her to delete the comments because they send a wrong message. Another netizen replied that people like her are part of the problem.

More than 10,000 people have died globally due to the virus. Celebrities like Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Olga Kurylenko, Idris Elba, Indira Varma, and Daniel Dae Kim have also tested positive.
