  • Devs shared that a mid-season update is set to arrive this week
  • New Multiplayer and Zombies content are scheduled to roll out in the game

Treyarch announced several details about the mid-season content arriving in "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War." The update, which is set to arrive on Thursday on all platforms, will introduce new Multiplayer and Zombies content to the game. The announcement came following the devs' recent update that amends several playlists.

An official "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" blog detailed the mid-season refresh coming to the game. The new update is even bigger and features new content, including Zombies and Multiplayer, the post revealed. Players get to experience a new fireteam map called Sanitorium, aside from the multiplayer mode called Dropkick.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" Zombie players get a brand new and more challenging Cranked mode. The brand new mode is designed to keep the adrenaline pumping with the timer resetting each time a zombie is killed. Players have to continue taking out the undead or risk being killed by an unknown force.

Also, players can expect this new mode to let loose a horde of zombies coming from all directions. On the PlayStation systems, players get a new Dark Aether intel and a new Raid map. Although this might seem like a minor detail to some players, this is one of the contentious PlayStation benefits that many fans complained about as "unfair" treatment before the game's official launch.

As for the Multiplayer content, a Fireteam map called Sanitorium will be rolled out soon. This map tasks players to infiltrate a mental hospital and secure it from an unknown threat. The devs are also launching Dropkick, which is a new 6 vs. 6 Multiplayer game mode. Players fight for control of nuclear codes in various MP maps.

The mid-season patch is also anticipated to roll out bug fixes, balance changes and several adjustments to the game. It is worth noting that this is only a preview of the mid-season content of the game. Fans can expect that more content and details would be announced in the next few days as the update nears its release.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" is playable on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
