Tom Cavanagh as Harry
“The Flash” star Tom Cavanagh revealed that there will be more or less four versions of Harrison Wells in Season 4, episode 6 of the CW series. The CW

This week’s Season 4, episode 6 of “The Flash” will introduce the Council of Wells, a group of the most intelligent versions of Harrison Wells in the Multiverse which Harry (Tom Cavanagh) convenes in an effort to figure out the identity of The Thinker (Neil Sandilands). Obviously, the hour will introduce new Wellses to the series, and according to Cavanagh, fans will see more or less four versions of his character in the episode.

“We went from 10 to six to four, or so,” Cavanagh told Extra and other news outlets when asked how many Wellses will be making an appearance in the installment.

While some fans may find that number quite underwhelming, Cavanagh said that there will be plenty of time to introduce more versions of Wells in the future. “I had a bunch of those ready last year when we searched for H.R,” Cavanagh said (via Collider). “I threw the steampunk guy, and the mime guy, and Hells Well, the Texan. Once again, another exercise in shamelessness that went so well that we decided to expand. Business is booming when it comes to the Wells.”

Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco on the series, has nothing but praise for Cavanagh, who plays all the versions of Wells. “Tom is very good at riffing on this particular character and letting us see different shades of Wells,” Valdes said. “But this (Council of Wells) just goes so over the top in such a gratifying way.”

Although Valdes admitted that shooting scenes with multiple Wells was an “overwhelming process,” he said that Cavanagh made the filming “a lot of fun.” “I think people will dig it a lot,” Valdes said.

Elsewhere in the episode, according to the synopsis for the hour, Barry (Grant Gustin) turns to a surprising ally for help when collectors of Native American artifacts are attacked by a meta named Mina Chayton (Chelsea Kurtz) who can bring inanimate objects to life.

The trailer for the episode suggests that Barry’s surprising ally is none other than his former nemesis Ralph Dibny (Hartley Sawyer). In the promo clip, Barry appears to be training Ralph how to be a superhero. Cisco, meanwhile, makes a superhero suit for Ralph, but the private investigator doesn’t appreciate it that much.

“When you stretch, it stretches. When you squish, it squishes,” Cisco says of Ralph’s plain-looking yet functional suit.

“It squishes into something butt-ugly,” comments Ralph, aka Elongated Man.

“The Flash” Season 4, episode 6, titled “When Harry Met Harry…,” airs tonight at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
