The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in El Paso, Texas arrested a former Cleveland Browns lineman after discovering 157 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle at a checkpoint.

Greg Robinson, who played with the Browns since 2018, was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana by the Department of Justice (DOJ) Wednesday, said ABC News, citing a federal complaint.

Former NFL player, Jaquan Tyreke Bray, was also arrested and charged accordingly.

The 26-year-old Bray played three seasons for the Indianapolis Colts from 2015-2017, the outlet added.

As per a statement from the DOJ, Robinson and Bray approached the Sierra Blanca checkpoint station when a U.S. Border Patrol canine unit alerted authorities. The latter was then motioned by agents to transfer and park his vehicle in the inspection area.

It was here that authorities found the illegal drugs stuffed inside “several large duffel bags” in the back of the vehicle.

The federal complaint added that Robinson allegedly rented a vehicle in Los Angeles Sunday and requested that a third person, an Uber driver Robinson met in 2018, to drive them to Louisiana.

By the time the vehicle was inspected, Robinson asked the Uber driver to “take the fall” and falsely admit that the marijuana was his and that he'd pay him later. The driver refused and even said to Robinson that he wouldn't have agreed to drive him and Bray had he knew they were transporting drugs, said Good Morning America.

Both NFL players are being held without bond. If convicted, Robinson and Bray could face up to 20 years in prison.
