KEY POINTS

  • "Genshin Impact" version 1.4 goes live on March 17
  • The new update adds a new boss called Herald
  • Ahead of "Genshin Impact" 1.5 launch, insiders claim Yaoyao is a Catalyst user

The closed beta for "Genshin Impact" 1.5 has recently started and some participants were able to leak some interesting details about it. The most recent leaks include a new video featuring the rumored Dendro character Yaoyao.

Earlier today, reliable industry insider Lumir shared on Twitter a clip showing the walking animation of Yaoyao. Apparently, the leaked video was from one of the closed beta phases of "Genshin Impact." So far, leaks claim that Yaoyao is a Catalyst user, but nothing is certain yet as to her official launch in the hit gacha game.

Yaoyao Gameplay And Element

There are a total of seven elements in "Genshin Impact," but players remain clueless as to what the Dendro element is about. Some believe that it has something to do with burning since it is, by far, the only elemental reaction linked to the element. Considering that it is the only element that interacts with Pyro, releasing it in the game would require a massive change in fighting mechanics involving elemental reaction.

It is probably one of the possible reasons why miHoYo has not yet introduced Dendro in the game. This is not the first time that fans heard about Yaoyao. In November, another industry insider Zniiet shared an image of eight characters discovered through data mining activities. Back then, the insider claimed that Yaoyao is already in development.

There are rumors that Yaoyao would be released in the "Genshin Impact" 1.5 update. However, this conflicts with other leaks that the next patch following 1.4 would feature the Inazuma region and along with it the Inazuma characters. While all these leaks are interesting, fans should temper their expectations since these are not official.

"Genshin Impact" 1.4 is scheduled to go live on March 17 and will introduce the new event titled "Windbloom Festival." The patch also adds some adjustments to Rosaria, a new Hangout mode and a new boss Herald. Chinese gaming studio miHoYo earlier confirmed that it rolled out a new five-star weapon called Elegy and made some changes to the appearance of Mondstadt.

"Genshin Impact" is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android devices.
