German microbiologist and fashion designer Anke Domaske has introduced a whole new chapter in high-end fashion with her garments made from high concentration of the milk protein casein.

Domaske fashion label Mademoiselle Chi Chi is very popular among the likes of Ashlee Simpson and Mischa Barton.

Contrary to what most people believe, milk garments have been around for quite some time. However, due to their unecological modes of production, they have failed to garner attention from the masses.

The German designer claims her new collection of milk garments are made of natural materials in a very eco-friendly way.

We have developed an all-natural fiber consisting of a very high concentration of casein, with a few other natural ingredients -- and in only two years, Reuters quoted the former microbiology student Domaske as saying.

With the introduction of this line, many people speculate the material might be the future of eco-friendly couture brands. Domaske also contended the garment is as good for your health as it is for the environment. According to the designer, producing an entire dress would involve the use of around 6 liters of milk and would cost around 150-200 euros.

Much remains to be seen as how the world of fashion responds to this unique and revolutionary garment material. Take a look at these exclusive garments made of milk yarn.
