Google WiFi On Amazon, Other Outlets, Launches: Here's Where The Routers Are Available

Google WiFi, the company’s new router which transmits Wi-Fi in every room and is designed to handle multiple devices in a household, is now available.

The connected system, which was revealed during October’s Google event, is a replacement for traditional routers that may not always cover an entire home.

Google Wi-Fi is sold by a single router or a bundle of three. The single routers are made for small homes or apartments and covers up to 500-1,500 feet. Two routers cover a medium home ranging from 1500-3000 square feet, and the bundle of three covers a large home of 3,000-4,500 square feet.

The router promises to be a hassle-free device transmitting Wi-Fi at high speed.

The router can be controlled by the Google WiFi app, in which people can share their Wi-Fi password, see what devices are online and prioritize them for faster service. A feature called “family Wi-Fi pause” allows parents to stop the signal on their children’s devices.

A single Google Wi-Fi device is priced at $129 and $299 for a three-router set.

Google WiFi is currently listed on the Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart.

However, the 3-router set is currently out of stock on Google’s store and there is a waitlist for the devices. On Best Buy’s site single Wi-Fi router is available, but the 3-set is listed as “sold out.” Google WiFi’s single and 3-set routers are still available on Walmart’s site. Meanwhile, Amazon says the single router has not been released yet and is available for pre-order. The 3-set routers are listed as “currently unavailable” on Amazon, with no pre-order option.

It might be worth the wait though, as the device is much cheaper than other similar routers. For a 3-router bundle, the Eero is double the price of Google WiFi, going for $499, the Luma is about $325, and the Orbi is $399.
