Prepare to get nostalgic, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. Season 13, episode 8 will reportedly be full of flashbacks.

Jerrika Hinton, who plays Stephanie Edwards on the ABC medical drama, recently opened up to TV Guide about what viewers should expect when tuning in to “The Room Where It Happens.” She told the publication that while there is often an element of the past in episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy,” the doctors generally run from it — but that will not be the case on Thursday.

Hinton said that viewers will quickly learn of a connection between a critical patient and four doctors — Edwards, Richard (James Pickens Jr.), Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) — which they will embrace with open arms. The mysterious link will, according to the “Grey’s Anatomy” actress, bring the foursome closer together. It will also diminish the “God complex” she claims surgeons on the show seem to have going into life-altering procedures.

“Typically in our show, the audience experiences us having these connections to our patients, and it’s something that we normally fight against,” Hinton explained. “In this particular episode, we’re kind of encouraged the lean into that, and it’s interesting to see how that helps this particular case. The benefit of encouraging that personal connection is that it does a great deal to help undercut that god complex that surgeons can have, and that is exhibited often in our show.”

Hinton was, of course, not able to give much away about episode 8. The synopsis is equally cryptic, teasing only the fact that Meredith, Richard, Owen and Stephanie will be bombarded by important memories while working as a team on a life-saving surgery. Photos show the small team of doctors surrounding their patient, while trying to execute the surgery to the best of all their abilities. Other pictures show Meredith having loving moments with her two children, which suggests they may somehow tie into whatever is going down in the operating room during this week’s episode.

It should be especially interesting to viewers to find out how the small team handles this epic surgery given the introduction of Dr. Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) in episode 7 of “Grey’s Anatomy.” She was called in to take a closer look at the staff of Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital after Bailey (Chandra Wilson) began to feel pressure from Catherine (Debbie Allen) to make changes. Minnick was given permission to integrate herself into the staff however she saw fit, which many of the doctors took issue with. Things became especially tense when she began standing in on surgeries, asking doctors to change their approach and allow inexperienced residents to do things they may not be ready for.
