Guardians of the Galaxy 2 news
The first poster and teaser trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” were released Wednesday. Marvel

The first footage of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has officially been released, but it doesn’t reveal a whole lot. In fact, the teaser trailer, which you can watch above, leaves audiences puzzled if they’re trying to figure out what’s happening in the Marvel action movie. These are the major questions we’re dying to learn more about after seeing the video.

Who is Gamora (Zoe Saldana) fighting? Twenty-five seconds into the clip, Gamora has her sword ready and seems to be jumping into a fight. However, we don’t get to see her opponent.

Why is Rocket (Bradley Cooper) with Yondu (Michael Rooker)? And why is everyone else around them falling while they seem perfectly grounded at the 28-second mark?

Who has Nebula (Karen Gillan)? It looks like she is kneeling at the 30-second mark while someone rips a hood off of her, and she doesn’t look happy about it. Granted, she never looks particularly joyful, but it seems like she may have gotten herself into a hostage situation.

Does Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) wear clothing? In the last shot of the trailer, it looks like Groot, who is still small enough to sit on Rocket’s shoulder, has an adorable tiny red jacket. Adult Groot was never one for clothing, but perhaps being tiny gives him more fashion options.

What is on the new soundtrack? Those hoping for a taste of “Awesome Mix Vol. 2” will have to wait. The new footage uses Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling,” which was on the first soundtrack as well.

Some of these questions might be answered when the official trailer comes along. Director James Gunn said this is just the beginning of new footage that will be debuted. “So the first Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer will be coming in not too long, but we know how thirsty you guys are for a glimpse - so we put together this special sneak peak at #GotGVol2 for you,” he wrote on Facebook.

The new footage from the intergalactic adventure was released shortly after the first poster for the sequel hit the internet. See the art below.
