Happy 50th Birthday, Tom Cruise?Or Is It?

With highly publicized divorce from Katie Holmes dominating headlines, Tom Cruise is celebrating his 50th birthday on Tuesday.

According to People, Cruise had plans to vacation with his 33-year-old wife Holmes and six-year-old daughter Suri for his milestone birthday.

Iceland is beautiful, Cruise told People several weeks ago from the location where he is filming Oblivion. We like hiking, and so we'll have some nice hikes and maybe go camping.

However, on Friday, Holmes announced that she would divorce her husband of five years via a statement from her attorney and is seeking full custody of their daughter.

This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family, Holmes' attorney told People magazine. Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest.

TMZ reported that legal divorce documents filed by Holes cited an irretrievably broken marriage of more than six months before she filed.

The same day the divorce announcement came, Holmes and her daughter were seen moving out of their New York City apartment where the trio resides. All of this happened while Cruise was in Iceland filming sci-fi flick Oblivion, where he remains undoubtedly reading headlines about past scandals, conspiracy theories and rumors about his life.

Despite the controversy, the actor born Tom Mapother who became famous for roles as Tom Cruise in Top Gun, Jerry Maguire, the Mission: Impossible series, Interview With A Vampire, Rain Main and Tropic Thunder remains an important fixture in Hollywood.
