Harmony Gold Mining Co. aims to resume operations at its Kusasalethu mine, where a fatality Monday halted work, on Tuesday night, South Africa's third-largest gold miner said Tuesday.

The identity of the worker who died in the accident has not been revealed. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The mine, about 40 miles west of Johannesburg, produced 180,334 ounces of gold in fiscal 2011, said Harmony, the fifth largest gold miner in the world.
