Conservative author Candance Owens is feeling the heat on Twitter after she criticized British actor Harry Styles for wearing a dress on the December cover of Vogue.

Owens let loose the day after Styles became the first male to be featured alone on the fashion bible's cover. He donned a a Gucci lace dress.

"There is no society that can survive without strong men" is the opening line of the firebrand's her tweet.

Then, she rants about how "the steady feminization" of men in the west parallels the teaching of Marxism in the schools.

"It's an outright attack. Bring back manly men."

Thousands responded. Just A Jersey Girl was one of many Styles fans who pushed back against Owens' premise.

"I have to respectively disagree with you. Clothes have always been a way of expression for every gender. Just b/c a man wears a dress doesn’t make him any less of a man. Women are aloud to wear tuxedos," tweeted Jersey Girl from @JaggedGirl1989.

But Owens had supporters, too. Tweeted Jarrod Wilson from @JarrodW81126724: "Lord help us all! These soft handed Starbucks coffee drinking skinny jean wearing man ladies havent ever had a real woman in their lives!"

Owens didn't back down, later tweeting: “Wait until they find out that I also think women should be feminine- and I enjoy cooking for and taking care of my husband.”

Styles hasn’t responded to the response tweets or to Owens.
