  • Queen Elizabeth was photographed with a big bruise on her hand Tuesday
  • Royal followers took to Twitter to express their concerns about the monarch's health
  • Rumors that Queen had been diagnosed with leukemia surfaced in November 2021

Queen Elizabeth has sparked fears among eagle-eyed royal fans after she had been pictured with a heavily bruised hand during her meeting with Britain's new Prime Minister earlier this week.

Talks about the 96-year-old monarch's health made the rounds online Wednesday, months after rumors of her alleged "leukemia crisis" first surfaced last year.

Rumors that Queen Elizabeth was "dying in plain" sight due to leukemia started to swirl around in November 2021, when the monarch was suddenly hospitalized due to undisclosed health concerns. At the time, some royal followers speculated that the queen might be secretly suffering from leukemia and that the Palace was simply downplaying the severity of her condition.

As the rumors died down over the last few months, theories about the Queen's health struggles have surfaced once again this week after photos of the monarch receiving Truss at the Balmoral Castle with a big bruise on her hand emerged.

While others noted that it is normal for Queen Elizabeth's age to get easily bruised, others are concerned that her bruise might have been caused by something more serious.

"Why has the Queen got such a large bruise on her hand?," royal commentator Angela Levin asked on Twitter.

"One wonders why Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has such a huge bruise on her right hand? Bleeding under the skin?," another Twitter user wrote.

"The nasty bruise on Queen Elizabeth's hand suggests the ailing #HerMajesty is receiving medical intervention intravenously. One can't help but wonder if her issues are limited to mobility," wrote another royal fan.

"So sad to see Queen Elizabeth deteriorating rapidly. Death wrinkles have progressed so quickly. Also, is that a bruise from a fall or worse?" tweeted another royal follower.

Speculations grew rife Wednesday when Buckingham Palace issued a statement announcing that the monarch had called off her virtual meeting with the Privy Council to take a rest.

"After a full day yesterday, Her Majesty has this afternoon accepted doctors' advice to rest," said the Palace. "That means that the Privy Council meeting that had been due to take place this evening will be rearranged."

The Palace has yet to address the rumors surrounding Queen Elizabeth's condition.
