New details have emerged which indicate how long a woman suspected of killing Heidi Broussard and kidnapping her daughter may have been planning her crime.

On Dec. 12, Broussard and her newborn daughter, Margot Carey, disappeared from their home. Upon arriving at their residence, law enforcement officials noted that she had left behind personal items, including her purse, ID, and the baby's diaper bag. After an investigation into their whereabouts, the Austin mother's body was recovered in the trunk of a car that was parked outside of a home in Houston on Dec. 20. She had been placed inside a black duffel bag inside the vehicle. Margot was also found and was seemingly unharmed. Ultimately, Magen Fieramusca, a longtime friend of Broussard, was arrested in connection with her murder.

Now, a new report has given a bit of new insight into what transpired after the crime took place.

According to the KVUE, Fieramusca had pretended to be pregnant for months in an elaborate plot to kidnap her friend's baby and pass her off as her own.

As stated by the outlet, an unsealed affidavit revealed that she had conducted "suspicious internet searches," including "reasons for Amber alert" and "Amber alert used in Austin" on Dec. 12. It also revealed that between Nov. 11 and Dec. 18 she had searched for "Heidi Broussard" at least 162 times and had looked for "bodies found in Austin Texas" on Dec. 14.

Additional clues also came in that pointed to Fieramusca's involvement, such as video footage of a car that matched Fieramusca's driving around Broussard's apartment complex around 9:00 a.m. on the morning that the two went missing. Another woman stated that she had witnessed a woman carrying a small child greet the driver of the car and willingly get inside. According to the affidavit, the two then drove away. Later, that witness would identify Fieramusca in a photo lineup with 60 to 70% certainty.

After surveilling the home, the police interviewed the owner. The man, who had believed that Fieramusca had been pregnant with his child, said that on Dec. 13 she had told him that she had delivered their baby without his knowledge. At that time, he then noticed that the newborn was on a bed inside his home and Fieramusca asked him not to be mad at her.

Fieramusca has been charged with kidnapping and evidence tampering. Her initial court date was previously pushed back to Feb. 3 at 9:00 a.m. at the request of her attorneys. It remains unknown why the date was changed. Additionally, Fieramusca does not have to appear at the upcoming date.

No one has been charged with killing Broussard at this time, but some have speculated what sentence the suspect could face if she is ultimately found guilty. Authorities have stated that there is still an ongoing investigation.
