A man from New Zealand was taken aback when he found a python inside his guitar at his home in Australia on Sunday.

In a Facebook post, the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers wrote that the unidentified man picked up the instrument and looked inside it only to find a carpet python there.

“A Kiwi man got the fright of his life when he picked up his Guitar to strum a few tunes when he noticed it was a lot heavier than usual! Haha. He looked inside and saw the large Carpet Python,” the Facebook post read.

The man immediately dropped the instrument and called the snake catcher. A snake catcher named Justin arrived at the scene and rescued the python before relocating it. A photo accompanying the post showed Justin staring at the python inside the guitar.

The post has since gone viral with several Facebook users asking people to check their guitars before strumming.

“Just showed this pic as my hubby was playing guitar. He stopped pretty quickly to check just in case,” a Facebook user wrote. “I mentioned the other week us kiwis are not good with snakes! Far out I would have had a freaken heart attack,” wrote another user.
