"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" released a teaser clip showing Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) preparing her camera crew to enter the Capitol now that it's an active war zone. Lionsgate

With less than two months to go until Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) shoots her last arrow when “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2” premieres, fans are eagerly awaiting any new information about the movie. To help promote the film’s advanced ticket sales, a new clip from the upcoming finale has been released, teasing the climactic battle against the Capitol.

The clip comes exclusively from Fandango, which shared the brief teaser as a reward for those super fans that purchased advanced tickets to the movie through the website. The video clip features Katniss, Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Clafflin), Boggs (Mahershala Ali) and Cressida (Natalie Dormer) preparing for their special propaganda team’s final assault on President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and his army of Peacekeepers.

The teaser starts with Finnick joining up with Katniss’ less rag-tag looking group of combatants after a short-lived honeymoon. Many may remember that Finnick got married at the very end of “Mockingjay, Part 1.” When Katniss asked if he’s ready to hit the field, he tells her that he’s eager to finish his honeymoon in the Capitol after they’ve taken it. Unfortunately, Team Katniss isn’t exactly going to be leading the charge against President Snow’s forces. Boggs and Cressida enter the tent to inform them that the higher powers at District 13 made the tough call to send them in after the main forces have already engaged the enemy.

"You're to be the onscreen faces of the invasion, the star squad. It's been decided that you're most effective when seen by the masses," Cressida tells the group.

Gale briefly questions the decision but falls back in line like the good soldier that he’s become as soon as his commanding officer, Boggs, reminds him of his duty. After all, it won’t be all sunshine and rainbows for the camera crew. Boggs is quick to remind each of them that, despite not being on the front lines, they’re still walking headlong into an active war zone.

“Even though we’ll be working on abandoned streets miles behind the front lines, I guarantee you wherever they put us it will not be safe. It is a war zone. It is likely we’ll encounter both active pods and peacekeepers. You’re considered high value targets.”

The danger prompts Finnick to whisper the chilling line to Katniss: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th annual Hunger Games.”

As Entertainment Weekly notes, the statement isn’t that far off as the impending battle for the epicenter of the fictional world of Panem will feel a lot more like one of the grisly life or death tournaments more so than an average military occupation. For one thing, the first teaser trailer for the film saw one of the Capitol’s many booby traps. In addition, fans can likely expect more of President Snow’s genetically modified mutants to make an appearance before Katniss either stands at the head of the successful revolution or dies trying.
