One of the greatest outdoor sports during summer, surfing is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Even though surfing is perhaps the hardest thing to learn, it benefits both the body and mind in many ways.

The sport is often regarded as a way of expressing oneself. Hence, to give this sport the due honor it deserves, International Surf Day is celebrated on June 19 every year when youngsters are encouraged to take up surfing as a career.

The history of International Surf Day:

The day was initiated in 2005 by Surfing Magazine and The Surfrider Foundation. International Surfing Day is celebrated in several places around the world by hosting events and barbecues, which are attended by many surfing enthusiasts.
