Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton used to be friends. But their relationship went down the drain after they both campaigned to become the next president of the United States in the 2016 elections.

The results revealed that the POTUS is the one who won, and this only fostered more bitterness between him and Bill Clinton’s wife.

Even though Melania Trump’s husband and Hillary are not necessarily the best of friends, the same cannot be said about their daughters. Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton are so close that they fondly refer to each other as best friends.

During her previous interview with People, the first daughter said that she and Chelsea are friendly towards each other especially since they can relate to each other easily.

Ivanka and Chelsea also share the same circle of friends, and they also care deeply about each other.

“We’re both incredibly supportive of our parents, as we should be. But we also continue to have great respect for one another. Our friendship has never been about politics. I don’t expect it will be about politics in the future,” she said.

During an interview with Vogue in 2015, Chelsea also praised Ivanka and said that the first daughter has the ability to make sure that everyone around her is enjoying the moment.

“It’s an awareness that in some ways reminds me of my dad, and his ability to increase the joy of the room. There’s nothing skin-deep about Ivanka. And I think that’s a real tribute to her because anyone as gorgeous as she is could have probably gone quite far being skin-deep,” she gushed.

Meanwhile, Ivanka and Chelsea have not been seen together in public despite their close friendship. According to Politico, the two women have made the conscious effort to steer clear of any more controversies especially amid their parents’ feud.

Ivanka and Chelsea experienced the nastiness and vitriol of the campaign first-hand, and they don’t want to risk their friendship because of it.
