James Cameron responded to the criticism around the runtime of his highly anticipated movie, "Avatar: The Way Of Water."

"I don’t want anybody whining about length when they sit and binge-watch [television] for eight hours," the director told Empire Magazine in an interview published Tuesday. "It’s like, give me a f--king break."

The 67-year-old went on to explain that he has noticed his kids binge-watch hour-long episodes in a row during the day. "I’ve watched my kids sit and do five one-hour episodes in a row," he added. "Here’s the big social paradigm shift that has to happen: it’s OK to get up and go pee."

During the interview, Cameron also recalled when the first installment of the franchise, "Avatar" was released, trolls slam the director for the characters' name.

"The trolls will have it that nobody gives a s--t and they can’t remember the characters’ names or one damn thing that happened in the movie," the director said. "Then they see the movie again and go, ‘Oh, OK, excuse me, let me just shut the f**k up right now.’ So I’m not worried about that."

"Avatar: The Way Of Water" is expected to last around three hours while the first installment was 160 minutes.

The first installment of the movie was released 13 years ago. "Avatar: The Way of Water" will hit the theaters on Dec. 16. Ahead of its release, the original "Avatar" movie with remastered audio and sound will be released globally on Sept. 23.

Apart from the second installment, the franchise will also include "Avatar 3," Avatar 4" and "Avatar 5."

The official Twitter handle of the magazine shared an exclusive image featuring Colonel Quaritch (played by Stephen Lang) in the form of a Na'vi on Sunday. He can be seen standing at the workstation with his human co-workers.

"Avatar: The Way of Water" teaser trailer was dropped on May 9 via Twitter.

Sigourney Weaver, who died in the first installment, will play a new character in the upcoming film. The movie will also star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang, Michelle Yeoh, Cliff Curtis, Jack Champion and Trinity Bliss.
