“Jane the Virgin” is a fun show to watch, and it’s mainly due to the upbeat and charismatic Narrator. The Narrator seems privy to all of the characters’ deepest, darkest secrets, but his identity remains unknown to this day. A lot of fans are guessing that he is Jane’s son Mateo all grown up, but some believe he could be Michael Cordero (Brett Dier).

Whatever the case, show creator Jennie Snyder Urman said his identity will be revealed before the show wraps, according to Jet Magazine. “You’ll find out in the last episode of the series [who the Narrator] is,” she guaranteed.

As for his identity, Urman even teased that the show has dropped several hints about it already. “There are so many clues already in the show. There are a lot,” she said.

Anthony Mendez is the voice actor behind the show’s Narrator, and he earlier told Pop Sugar that he initially had misgivings about the role. However, he changed his mind after reading the script. “I didn't want to do it initially based on the premise,” he admitted. “Once I read it, I thought it was brilliant.”

Despite working on “Jane the Virgin” for several years, Mendez said that it continues to surprise him. The show always has twists and turns, but what amazes him the most is how they film scenes. “It’s amazing how many different takes they have. It’s a single-camera show. They do a masterful job at making it seem like it’s several cameras with them changing the angles, but that’s basically them doing the scene all over again — almost as precisely as they did it before. It’s a very technical art,” he said.

Another thing Mendez appreciates is Urman’s storytelling ability. Even though the show juggles so many characters, they still manage to reel audiences in. Lead character Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez), in particular, is portrayed as a daughter, granddaughter, mother, widow, friend and writer. “It’s more about dynamic in this family and the different storylines and how Jane is still trying to grasp with her identity and her goals in the midst of all this crazy stuff happening around her,” he told Bustle.

This season, Jane has found a new romance in her father Rogelio dela Vega’s (Jaime Camil) co-star Fabian (Francisco San Martin). She initially wanted a fling, but the more she got to know Fabian, the more she liked him. At the same time, Fabian has decided to keep his pants zipped up until he found the right girl, therefore putting Jane’s plans to have a fling on hold.

However, it seems like Fabian has really fallen hard for Jane because a teaser for the upcoming episode revealed that Fabian is ready to take things to the next level with Jane, although Jane doesn’t seem to be on the same page.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
