Brad Pitt was not really happy with Jennifer Aniston but was satisfied with Angelina Jolie.

Pitt and Aniston may have faked their happy marriage. The exes got married in 2000 and divorced five years later. They announced their amicable separation in 2005 and remain good friends at present. However, Pitt’s past interviews proved that they weren’t really happy together.

According to Pitt in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2004, months before his split from Aniston, “I’m happier than I’ve ever been.” However, barely a year after that, he talked about his life with his then-newfound love Jolie saying that he was making “true choices.”

“I’m satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much,” the “Ad Astra” actor said. “A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss...That’s the trade-off. But I’ll take it all.”

In an interview with Parade, Pitt also said that he was trying to look for movie roles to fill a void left by the lackluster life he was leading. According to him, he was not living an interesting life when he was still with Aniston.

“I think that my marriage had something to do with it, trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t,” Pitt said.

Many interpreted Pitt’s statement about his marriage with Aniston against the latter. The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” star immediately clarified it saying that it saddened him that it was misinterpreted.

Pitt explained that he didn’t mean to say that Aniston was dull. In fact, she was an incredibly loving and hilarious wife that they even remained friends post-split. What he meant was Aniston was not dull, but he was becoming dull himself and he was responsible for that.

Pitt and Jolie’s marriage didn’t last. They announced their split in 2016. Pitt and Jolie’s separation wasn’t as amicable as his split with Aniston, but things have been better between them.

Meanwhile, Pitt and Aniston have rekindled their friendship. Pitt even attended Aniston’s 50th birthday bash and holiday party last year. They are also expected to reunite at the Golden Globe Awards.
