Jennifer Aniston admitted she really loved Brad Pitt after their split.

Aniston and Pitt were the perfect couple to the eyes of many until they announced their separation. It has been over a decade since they parted ways but many want them to rekindle their romance especially after they reunited at the Golden Globe Awards.

In 2006, Aniston spoke with Leslie Bennetts for a Vanity Fair cover. In her interview, the “Murder Mystery” star shared her true feelings for Pitt after their split and she spoke nothing but love for the “Ad Astra” actor, saying that she had no regrets about their marriage.

“I still feel so lucky to have experienced it. I wouldn’t know what I know now if I hadn’t been married to Brad,” Aniston said.

“I love Brad; I really love him. I will love him for the rest of my life. He’s a fantastic man. I don’t regret any of it, and I’m not going to beat myself up about it. We spent seven very intense years together; we taught each other a lot—about healing, and about fun. We helped each other through a lot, and I really value that. It was a beautiful, complicated relationship. ”

Aniston said that the sad thing for her was how their story was reduced to a Hollywood cliché. She added that she has a lot of compassion for everyone going through the same thing as her at the time.

In the same interview, Aniston said that she refused to believe Pitt left her for another woman, Angelina Jolie. There were rumors that Pitt and Jolie had an affair while filming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” According to Aniston, she’s not a victim. Also, she wanted to focus on herself because “you can only clean up your side of the street.”

Aniston didn’t deny that she was shocked when Pitt was spotted with Jolie frolicking at the beach shortly after their split. She said she was hurt, angry and embarrassed, but she has moved on from that issue already.

Pitt and Aniston have rekindled their friendship. In fact, Pitt was among Aniston’s guests on her 50th birthday party and holiday celebration. Pitt also called his ex-wife a good friend.
