Joe Biden's New Campaign Video Gets Assistance From Famous Comedian With Obama Ties

Since formally entering the 2020 presidential race, former Vice President Joe Biden has earned quite a bit of support from a variety of prominent figures, including former President Barack Obama and others. Now, the "Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose" author has highlighted some of that support in a newly-released campaign video.

On Tuesday, a new video was posted to Biden's official YouTube channel that featured comedian Keegan-Michael Key. In the clip, which is titled "How To Social Distance Friendship," Biden and Key are seen doing a variety of things, such as playing cards and eating together via webcam.

The video was released as an effort to highlight how people could continue to stay connected amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Later in the video, the conversation turns towards the political, as Biden tells the former "Mad TV" star that he has been working on a speech for him to deliver. To that, Key responds that he should try to fit the word "loquacious" in it at some point. The interaction can be seen below.

Prior to the new clip, Key has been connected to politics in other ways, including his impersonation of former President Obama. Speaking about his effort during a 2016 interview on "Good Morning America," the comedian said that doing the impression of the "Dreams From My Father" author was one of his all-time favorite routines.

"He’s a good one. I like doing him. We have a really good time. A really good time," he said during the "GMA" interview.

This is not the first instance where politics and comedy have intersected over the course of the past year. Not only has Alec Baldwin previously discussed portraying President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live," but it was also revealed in a recent podcast that Trump and Hillary Clinton's debates were also influenced by a secret team of comedians.
