Kate Middleton chopped off her hair after delivering Prince Louis for a reason.

The Duchess of Cambridge has officially returned to her royal duties, now sporting noticeably shorter hair. According to Claire Smith from "The Baby Show," there's a reason why Middleton, as well as other moms, may have opted to cut their hair short after giving birth.

"Many mums have enough to worry about when they have a new baby and their hair is often one of the last things on their mind, so it becomes a natural option for many to make it more manageable and cut it shorter," Smith told OK magazine.

"Kate is extremely lucky to have lovely thick hair and whether she has it long, or short, it looks beautiful," she added. "Looking after long hair takes time and effort, whether you have an army of people behind you or not, so it’s often a mummy trend to cut your hair shorter."

For Smith, cutting her hair short is a wise decision for Middleton who is already a parent of three children. Doing so will allow her to look good while giving her the freedom to take care of her children in "quick-fire time!"

On the other hand, James Johnson, a celebrity hairdresser have a different opinion. According to him, Prince William's wife may have decided to cut her hair short to reassert herself.

"Often when having a child, so many women want to feel refreshed and empowered again. Having spent nine months carrying and feeling out the ordinary, women are often desperate to feel new again. A great way to do this is with a fresh hairstyle, including a color you’ve been waiting all pregnancy for," he told Daily Mail.

In related news, when Middleton made her first royal engagement after her six-month maternity leave, she broke several royal protocols. The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed hugging kids, she wore pants and she attempted to close the car door.

Aside from this, she made a surprising revelation about the creepy activity she does with her kids 5-year-old Prince George and 3-year-old Princess Charlotte. According to Middleton, they enjoy hunting spiders in their garden and spend hours doing this.
