Kate Middleton reportedly experienced the same heartbreak as Sarah Ferguson when Prince William decided to join the royal air force (RAF).

According to Katie Nicholl in her 2010 book “ William and Harry,” the Duchess of Cambridge was “bored and alone” and when Prince William was still completing his RAF and Navy training. During those moments, the Duke of Cambridge had ”very little time for Kate” who was in London because he was stationed all over the UK and was even sent on missions to Afghanistan and the Caribbean.

Nicholl added that it was a difficult period for Middleton because it would mean that she had to wait before they finally become engaged.

Anna Kretschmer, a journalist for Express, likened Middleton’s experience to the Duchess of York’s. Ferguson was also lonely and struggling during her marriage with Prince Andrew because the Duke of York was very busy with his naval career.

Ferguson revealed that for seven years, she only saw Prince Andrew 40 days a year. She admitted that she felt abandoned and it was really difficult for her.

Prince Andrew and Ferguson eventually split. The Duchess of York confessed that they both felt that they didn’t fight hard enough to keep it together. However, their relationship has never been better. In fact, Ferguson described their current status as their “fairy tale.”

Prince William and Middleton also had a trial separation. The Duke of Cambridge was reportedly the one who asked for it because he needed space.

According to Katie Nicholl in her 2010 book “William and Harry,” Middleton received huge support from Prince Philip. As Prince William partied, the Duchess of Cambridge received a message of support from the Duke of Edinburgh assuring her than in due time, Prince William would propose to her.

Prince William and Middleton announced their engagement in 2010 and got married the following year. However, the couple didn’t invite Ferguson in their royal wedding.

Ferguson only watched Prince William and Middleton’s wedding on TV. According to her, she saw herself in Middleton when she married Prince Andrew.

While watching the royal wedding, she admitted that it urged her to do “great soul searching on regret.” Ferguson was involved in a toegate scandal before she and Prince Andrew split, which royal experts believed was the reason they divorced.
