Kate Middleton is one of the few members of the royal family who have been quite vocal about mental health issues. She has been continuously supporting the initiative called “Heads Up,” which was started by her husband Prince William. The campaign encourages people to talk about mental health.

The Duchess of Cambridge has always believed that people should open up about their mental well-being and now she is relaying the same message to the students.

Middleton is set to lead a morning assembly for the Oak National Academy, an online classroom that has been created by the teachers. She will be speaking about the importance of mental well-being among the children attending the school and how parents should talk to their children about mental health.

According to Place2Be, the 38-year-old member of the royal family will talk about how sharing things with someone can make one feel calm. Middleton will also urge the students to help others who are going through a rough patch by offering them a “friendly ear.” In her speech, she is also going to highlight the importance of “kindness” and how it can help in solving the problem.

“Talking to someone, whether it’s a friend, family member, or teacher, is something you can do to make yourself feel that little bit better. And you can also play your part in helping others to feel better too, whether offering a friendly ear, or helping someone in need. Small acts of kindness can go such a long way," the organization quoted Middleton.

During the address, Middleton will also explain how people, especially children should focus on the things that make them happy.

"But as we help others, we mustn’t forget to nurture ourselves, by taking the time to focus on the things that make us feel happy too,” the Duchess’ quote continued.

Place2Be, which is one of the duchess's patronages, is a charity that provides mental health support to schools through counseling.

Her speech will come a couple of days after Prince William urged famous sportspeople to come forward and create awareness about mental health. While attending a remotely held roundtable discussion with various athletes, the 37-year-old royal requested the sports stars to help him raise awareness about mental health, per The Independent.

Prince William also noted that athletes should use their stature to “encourage people” to talk about their mental well-being.
