Kate Middleton’s first patronage has some good news.

One of the Duchess of Cambridge’s first patronages when she joined the royal family was East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). The charity provides care and support to children with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

In 2014, Middleton helped EACH launch a $12.85 million Nook Appeal to raise funds for a new state-of-the-art children’s hospice to replace their old facility at Quidenham. Middleton’s five-year public appeal and the almost two years of building the new site in Framingham Earl have become productive. The new hospice is now open and it includes a hydrotherapy pool and a sensory room with en-suite family accommodation room.

“The Nook is a 21st century building to provide 21st century care, spread across a single floor, with more areas for clinical care, larger and better equipped en-suite bedrooms, dedicated therapy rooms and much more,” a spokesperson for EACH told Hello!

“It will allow us to fully cater for an increased demand for our service and the ever-changing and more complex needs of those we care for. Set on a five-acre woodland site, closer to the centre of the county, hospitals and road networks, it also means the majority of families and staff will travel shorter distances to receive and deliver care.”

Middleton and Prince William just had their successful Pakistan tour a few weeks ago. Many were impressed with how the future king and queen consort carried out their engagements in their recent official tour.

Middleton’s wardrobe was also praised. According to Richard Fitzwilliams, the duchess’ choice of outfits was “exquisitely appropriate for each occasion.” The expert also pointed out how Middleton paid homage to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana with her fashion.

“She is the future Queen after all. Yet, she pulls it off easily. She always looks perfectly tailored, she always looks elegant and appropriate. It always looks like there’s a sense of purpose and forethought into everything she wears,” style expert Andrea Levin said about Middleton’s wardrobe.
