Kimberly Williams-Paisley was well known for her “Father of the Bride” films in the 1990s and Patrick Dempsey had his popular 1987 teen flick “Can’t Buy Me Love,” so it made sense that when it came time for ABC Family to put out a fun rom-com in the early 2000s, called “Lucky 7,” they’d be the ones chosen for the leading roles.

It’s been 15 years since the film premiered on the network on July 20, 2003, and though the two have gone on to have quite the careers — Williams-Paisley starred on “According to Jim” and fronts the Hallmark “Darrow & Darrow” franchise, while Dempsey found fame with “Grey’s Anatomy” and multiple rom-com roles — they will always have their memories of making “Lucky 7.”

While speaking with Williams-Paisley earlier this year about “Darrow & Darrow 2,” International Business Times mentioned that the 15th anniversary of her ABC Family movie was coming up, and she was overwhelmed by how “cool” that realization was. She had nothing but great things to share about her time filming with Dempsey.

“I loved filming that movie. I had so much fun,” she told IBT. “We were in Canada. We were filming on Victoria. Patrick was so lovely.”

The film followed Amy (Williams-Paisley), a Seattle lawyer, who was told by her mother before she died that the seventh man she dated would be Lucky 7 and the one she was meant to be with. Taking this to heart, Amy got nervous when she met man number six, Daniel (Brad Rowe), and really started to like him. Not wanting to ruin it, she decided she needed a filler number six so that Daniel would be Lucky 7. That’s where Dempsey’s Peter came in. Of course, things didn’t exactly turn out the way Amy wanted them to, but they did work out the way they were meant to.

One memory that stood out to the actress while filming this movie was the week she spent shooting at the Sooke Harbour House. She gushed about being at the beautiful location and getting to call it work.

“It was a resort and it was like the nicest job,” the Hallmark star said. “To just be staying in this phenomenal resort with amazing food and nice people and a beautiful setting. I had just got married. It was a really sweet time in my life. Our director Harry Winer was so nice. We just had such a lovely time doing that movie and people still talk to me about that movie. I think it made on an impact on a lot of people.”

After all these years, what does she imagine her and Dempsey’s characters are up to now?

“Probably something like what I’m up to right now,” she said. “Raising kids, making it work, traveling the world. I’d like to imagine they’re doing something like that.”
