  • Several netizens slammed the singer’s appeal
  • Others thanked Gaga because she inspired them to vote

Lady Gaga received mixed responses from the netizens after sharing a video campaigning for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Gaga posted a short video on Twitter of her wearing a matching camouflage top and pants. She paired her outfit with knee-high boots and a cap. She is seen leaning on a pickup truck and holding a can of beer in one hand while speaking.

"Hey, this is Lady Gaga. I’m voting for America, which means I’m voting for Joe Biden," she said.

"And if you live in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Florida, or Arizona, I encourage you to vote."

Gaga opened the can of beer, took a sip and tried to crush it with her hand before tossing it on the ground while saying, "Cheers on the 2020 election."

Many were not impressed with the video because for them, she was trying hard to look act a redneck and she got it wrong.

"Lady Gaga dressing up as a southern voters intention is to mock republicans of their traditional redneck culture but she’s got it all wrong," one commented.

"I don't dress like that or drink beer.....Rednecks come in variety and she fits NONE of them Lady Gaga, country ain't your forte #CountryWannaBeFails," @DownHomeWoman wrote.

"The Democrats have got Lady Gaga posing as a redneck, in order to appeal to potential Trump voters. I smell absolute desperation," another tweeted.

Another Twitter user felt that Gaga's effort was useless because she was attempting to market a group that sees her as "irrelevant." The netizen pointed out that no redneck follows her and "no southern dude cares what she thinks.”

Despite the criticisms, many also gave Gaga's video a thumbs up. For them, she nailed it. Several also thanked her for inspiring them to vote.

"She totally nailed it - I can't tell the difference between Lady Gaga in this video and most of my redneck relatives back in Texas. I'm sure this video went a long way towards capturing hearts and minds. This is a game-changer - Biden in a landslide," one wrote.

"@ladygaga thank you for inspiring me. I VOTED BLUE!" another wrote.

"@ladygaga its such an honor to vote for the first time and thank you for being an inspirationn[sic]," a different user added.
